Use visualization!
Our minds are naturally skilled at turning images into memories, therefore, to retain data better, just begin picturing it.
Here is how:
1. Make an Internal Image
Once you hear a word or figure say it in an image format within your head. For instance, should you meet someone by name Lily, just visualize a pretty lily flower.
2. Experience Sensations
Try to feel the texture of the item you want to remember, assume you are touching it. Does it feel rough or smooth on the surface? Can you identify a smell?
3. Use animated pictures
Animated pictures are easier to remember than still pictures.
4. Create a Story
Create a story that links the information together.
5. Repeat to retain
Visualize it a few times over the next hour, then once a day for the next few days.
It's not a superpower, just a skill you can learn. Practice it and improve your memory retention.
